handmade tensha beads

about tensha beads

May 2017

GREETINGS and WELCOME to my Tensha bead store. And to my dedicated repeat customers may I say WELCOME BACK!

My name is Leslie, and I am the owner of tenshabeads.com. I have been a jewelry designer working with Japanese Tensha beads for over 26 years. These light weight, durable beads are delightful to work with.

I imagine these beads were created as an alternative to the labor intensive hand painted porcelain beads. The advantage of this work is that the beads are lighter in weight, cannot chip or break, and portray images of precise detail. The decoration is on both sides of the beads and match exactly.

The word 'Tensha' in Japanese translates to the English word 'transfer'. The beads are made by applying a beautifully detailed decal to a base colored acrylic bead. The transfer is then sealed and locked in with an acrylic coating, which protects the image from abrasion. Gold foil accents are often used to enhance the decoration. Because each bead is made by hand, Japanese Tensha are well worth their price.

Tensha beads come in many shapes, sizes and patterns. Whatever I design with them sells very well. I look forward to presenting you with design ideas as well as offering accessory beads to enhance your work.

Please do not hesitate to contact me, leslie@tenshabeads.com, with any questions, comments or concerns you may have. As I have been selling beads on-line for over 15 years, I know how important it is for a customer to be sure a website has someone there to talk to. I strive to offer top quality customer support and am here to help. Just ask.

If for any reason you are not satisfied with any of my items, I offer a 100% money back guarantee. Thank you for stopping by and have fun designing!
